If you look for Camino de la Fusta in the official street map on the web site of the Ayuntamiento of Chiclana you will not find it.  This street, in Pago Melilla, is one of hundreds of roads that have arisen with the help of the poor control of urbanisation in the last few years.

Chairman´s Newsletter – June 2009

Since the last update our main focus has been on the formation of our working group and the liaison with the Council. We now have to decide how best to utilise the funding that the Council have set aside for the foreign Associations that now exist and we are working hard to agree realistic proposals.

On the 15th May some of our committee members met with Candida Verdier, the head of the Urbanismos department.  We had sent in a list of prepared questions for her to answer, but for some reason she did not have them to hand and so the meeting was not as structured as we were expecting.  However our team put to her some searching questions regarding the illegal housing and urbanisation issues.

Spanish Classes

Are you interested in enrolling in a Spanish Language course?

CFRA has been speaking to the director of the Official Language School at El Campito in Chiclana. She is of the opinion that if there is sufficient interest shown in Spanish courses, the Council may be prepared to fund these – as in the past - through the school, starting in the Autumn, along with all the other language classes.
